Open Mic 22 Feb 2012

As you know, part of our restaurant's reputation centers around music. We've had many guest performers on Sundays and various evenings and we do the open mic every wednesday night during the "season." I'm a musician and I can't cook. So I especially enjoy the open mic.

Last Wednesday was especially entertaining. Not only did we have country AND western, we had bluegrass. We had jazz. We had nice contemporary original music by Jess Clemons. We had classical piano. We had oldies. We had 60's. WE HAD REGGAE. No kidding real, good reggae. Ok that's it right?? Look I'm not overstating how good of a night of music this was. If you weren't there, ask somebody who was. But wait, there's MORE. We had an honest to goodness OPERA piece. And it was unbelievable. Laura who never leaves us thinking, "oh I've heard THAT song a hundred times" sang an opera piece that I don't know the name of but trust me when I tell you that it was really good.

Come over the the Roadrunner Cafe instead and see Jess Clemons. She's played a couple times at our Wednesday open mike and will try to get down this Wed. (Feb 21) also.

Jess has written some great tunes and performs them flawlessly. Her voice is her best instrument but she compliments herself beautifully with both guitar and piano .

I know many of you will be at the Trinidad show Friday night to rock out with "Los Viejos and La Señorita Michelle". Saturday night will be the perfect follow up. We'll sit back and have a nice relaxing evening with Jess. Click this link to read more about Jess and her accomplishments.

Breakfast Music Sunday at Roadrunner Cafe

Sunday Brunch music! Mary Kleinsorge, known to us as Dr. Mary, will perform this Sunday, Feb.19 in our open air concert arena. (that would be the outside serving area to you regulars...) Mary is a classically trained musician on guitar and voice. She will play both original music and some cover tunes. Nice music for a relaxing morning. No cover, regular menu plus our daily specials. By the way, I think many of you don't know you can substitute Donna's bakery bread for your toast with your breakfast. She normally has whole wheat, sourdough and raisin.

Extended Hours at Roadrunner Cafe

New Hours!  We will stay open until 8 pm Monday through Friday. Happy hour is 4 to 7.  Wednesday night is still open mike and dinner at 6.  We will have our regular menu items available plus some new appetizers available.  We'll add regular dinner items soon. Of if you eat somewhere else, come by for one of Donna's delicious desserts and a great cup of coffee.  And like always, free wifi for our fabulous customers.

Mark Mulligan Coming Sunday To Roadrunner Cafe

 Mark is a well known singer/songwriter who has entertained extensively in Mexico and the US. He brings a nice selection of acoustic music for our enjoyment. Here's a couple of recent photos of Mark playing at Margaritaville in New Orleans. He's with good friend Kelly McGuire in the right photo. Come join us for a great night of food, drink and music.
